>Future, C to Bond, ask him why he's so riled up. After he finds out R-Company is going to raid us as a test, we should ask him to help us fight if he wants to.
After reading her new work order, Celanine's posture relaxes, as if she's being rewarded instead of actually working. Without further question, she heads over to the containment cell.
The knight's grip loosens at the sight of the girl.
ANOMALY: Yes. I am here. I am well.
ANOMALY: What do you need? I am good. I am here.
Employee C rubs the back of her neck, unsure on how to break the awkward air.
C: You seem, uh, a little tense. What's gotten you all riled up?
C: Wouldn't be shocked if you're gonna blow a gasket like that.
The knight lets go of his sword. It clatters to the ground.
Employee C rushes over to help pick it up and put it back in the knight's hand but he doesn't move.
C: U-uh, you dropped this.
ANOMALY: ...
ANOMALY: I'm not sure how comfortable I am with the upcoming battle I must fight.
C: Oh. Do you, uh, know about R-Corp's...thing?
C: They're gonna attack soon and well, I wanted to know if you're fine fighting against them.
ANOMALY: Yes. That is the issue at hand.
ANOMALY: It is one thing to strike down at a monster. It is one thing to strike down at an anomaly. But man?
ANOMALY: Does man really warrant as ruthless judgement and bloodletting as those creatures? Is it even my place to judge if they deserve death?
ANOMALY: Yet it is my purpose to protect. Is it not?
C: I'm not a smart girl. I'm not really much of anything.
She lays the sword at the feet of the anomaly.
C: I can't really give you an answer. I don't know what it would be.
C: I know one thing, though. I'm going to die here. I don't know how, I don't know why.
C: but until then, I wanna live. I wanna keep talking with my friends, I want to see new things, I want to keep...doing things, you know?
C: Please. I want to live another day. Can you just do it, for me? It's not any better if you just...
C: Sit by and watch, right?
The knight shudders at the woman's words. Without further question, he picks up the sword and grips it as tightly as he can.
ANOMALY: I am here for a better future. I shouldn't be doubting myself.
C: Y-yeah! That's for, uh, me to do! Yeah! Not like I'm worth much.
The air goes silent at that "joke" Employee C tried making.
ANOMALY: Don't degrade yourself like that. I shall protect you if you go talk to the man who peers into your head.
C: You mean Grant, right?
ANOMALY: Please. Leave me be. You need to take care of yourself before me.
Employee C sighs.
Employee C exits the containment cell.
