“Doc!”
“Marnie…? What in the- what are you doing in here?”
“I’m here to save you!”
“Ah, I must be off my rocker.”
Doc hangs his head. He looks worse for wear. He hasn’t gotten the opportunity to reset his avatar, so his usual singlet is ripped up, and the facial apparatus that covers his malware-scarred face is cracked and sparking.
”She’s real. She’s really there. Wake up, Doc.” Kokuwamon urges.
”Hello, Marnie. We have to stop meeting in this manner,” quips the wounded Solarmon.
His optical units slowly light up again, and wonder spreads across his face as he beholds you.
“How in the hell did you know to find me in here? You must have learnt so much, so fast.”
“Don’t talk, I need to get you out of here. Come on!”
You pull at the red chains, but they don’t budge.
“It’s encrypted. And I don’t have the tools to hack it right now. My partners here tried, but…”
He motions to the heavily injured Solarmon. It looks about as bad as when you first found it, but it’s still alive. Kokuwamon looks a bit better.
“How’d they get you?"
“I didn’t think they could coordinate like that… That big leader of theirs— same one you fought?”
You nod, clenching your fist.
“He sent his Rookie Digimon in first. They started wrecking the lab, so we tried to drive them outside. That was the big mistake. Giant damn nasty T. Rex was waiting right there for me.”
