Frankly, you wish that you had the benefit of donning your armour earlier in the day before you were exhausted rather than now. Your next sparring partner looks no easier. He is now unarmoured, taking the role of the assassin, but he looks like he knows his way around a dagger.
He was a friendly enough fellow while the two of you were talking during one of the breaks between bouts. It was the first time you had managed to bungle more than a few words together in Battle Cant without falling back on the odd sentence in your mother tongue. It is just as well, as the man speaks not one word of it and in any event he doesn’t strike you as the type to let whatever rapport you’ve built deter his proxy assassin’s blade one bit.
