Expressing with your right hand you made it flap open and close like a energetic mouth.
The old man grinned like a fiend as he buzzed his radio, Churvik had been on site since the day you arrived and with every passing year it seemed like he had aged four. His silky white moustache and creased face one of the few friendly bastions. With a hiss the heavy door swung open and the rest of the compound was open to you. "Give em hell Morty." He added as you continued on your way, sharing a nod of thanks. Onwards you go, passing base staff and other guards. None giving you a second glance as the day began.
Under the overcast sky you fell into parade, the cold air putting pep into the step of every man and woman about to go onto duty. Names were called, marching was done. News was read out, nothing of note again and finally you escaped the cold. Marching back inside to eat. The mess hall was nearly as empty as your dorm, only a few tables were occupied. Picking up a tray you wasted no time grabbing some toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and some fried tomato slices. The rumbling in your stomach increased your pace as you grabbed a paper cup of hot coffee. Observing the hall you decided by who to sit with. An empty table cried out for someone to claim a seat, a pair of guards were busy chatting back and forth, a few scientists were eating silently and the roar of your stomach demanded more protein.
