You toss Max and Benjamin some old clothes and an ice pick in case HEART ON MY SLEEVE wants them. Just in case.
The airlock to the MEDIUM CLASS CELL opens into an antechamber. The four of you enter and the airlock behind you seals shut.
Your three bodyguards have their weapons drawn just in case whatever's inside the cell proper is dangerous. The airlock leading into the interior opens up to show something you were not expecting.

The room is cast in off-purple light from a formless mass of particles floating in the air inside of the containment cell. The walls and floors are caked in a thick film of black tar and and oil that is being constantly produced from the glowing, floating off-purple sphere. Every few seconds another droplet of oil would manifest out of nowhere from the ball of light before dropping onto the floor.
It's. Huh. Most of the anomalies you've seen or met had some sort of physical form you could recognize but you can't quite tell where it starts or where it ends here. Is the sphere the main anomaly? Or is it the tar?
You feel something vanish from your inventory.
>ALL MISSION MEMENTOS have been erased from your inventory and the inventory of your allies!>Memories, washed away, forever. You think?>Did you ever have MISSION MEMENTOS...?"Where would we even start with this?" Lex is clearly confused by whatever this anomaly is. "I don't think punchin' it is a good idea."
"Is it even hostile, though? That's the question." Maruyama decides to test out the anomaly by throwing some old paperwork from his briefcase into the pile of tar.
You think he tried to at least. His briefcase is already empty. He squints at this odd discrepancy. "I swore I had some old papers in here."
"LET ME TRY SOMEthing." Benedict moves to slice into his own arm to see how his flesh would react...but there's already a large incision on his arm. His wound is already scabbing over.
[ANCIENT BLOODLINE] This puts Lex on high alert. He seems to instinctually know what's going on here. "It's messin' with our heads! Nicole, think about removing your shoe."
You look down. You only have one boot on. Your left foot only has a sock to keep itself decent. Uh oh. "Shit."
[TRIM THE FAT] "It appears it has an antimemetic property. Nicole is unable to remember so it appears no amount of mental resistance can block it." Benedict knits his brows. For a moment it's as if this anomaly's memory altering property has helped him to focus. "This. This would be something the spooks would want, isn't it?"
"Yeah, Kiara would tell me about me all about them whenever she got off a mission with Nicole. A memory dump. A perfect way to get rid of something."
Will the freedom to grasp what was missed ever return? A voice whispers inside your mind. All the longed-for items and moments slipping away into the darkness of one's past.
So much has passed you by, Maruyama.
