>>5676261>20You look upon the Goliath, watching you silently but without ceasing its attention. Every small movement you make causes its great ‘head’ (really more of an outcropping from the torso) to shift or tilt as it keeps you centred in its attention.
“How?” you answer Olu’s question in Northern common-tongue, so that Ekaterine might understand as well. “I did it with the aid of the Dark Godsss. The Ssserpent Assscendant help ssave uss all.”
Ekaterine regards you through squinted eyes, perhaps wary and wise to your attempts to propagandize her… But it is the truth. You meet her gaze unbothered by falsehood or uncertainty… And she relents. She, and you, instead regard your assembled adversaries.
The rock-monsters and their Goliath master alike are clumped together, watchful and awaiting further instructions. The thought occurs of commanding an entire ARMY of these monstrously strong-and-fast earth-creatures… But no. The <Voice of Metatron> is not something that will affect them and control them forever, you sense. Your control of them is, ultimately, temporary. They will forever respect you, avoid attacking you, but they will not serve or obey you.
“They are… Fascinating, one must admit… When, aha, they aren’t trying to kill one,” Ekaterine mumbles nervously. “What ARE they?”
“Dangerous,” the Archer notes.
“Worth study,” the Novice notes, though not with her characteristic enthusiasm or certainty for the dark sciences; you can tell this encounter has shaken her a little, and that she feels some fear of these things even now.
