"I will be there when the interrogation starts, I think my presence could be beneficial." You said to Eligius. "But this is supposed to be your case to solve, so I will leave you and Garside at it."
"I understand, what will you do then?" Eligius asked you.
"I will talk to Pai, let's see if I can get her to speak." You said. "But before that, have the house searched, if needed turn it upside down."
"Will do Prince Alric." Eligius said.
"And meanwhile we have studying to do." Nalice said to you.
You couldn’t see if Eligius reacted to that, but he didn't say anything either.
"It might take this whole evening to go through his house, so we will see each other tomorrow morning." Eligius said to you through the fence.
"Search everything." You reminded him again before you stepped away from him.
…
With Eligius busy with the investigation, you and Nalice could concentrate on starting the studies of the draconic language and what would be the best spot to start than from the alphabet.
"Our language is based on glyphs, not really about letters like the mortal languages." Nalice explained to you and wrote something on a paper that didn't say anything to you. "What does this look like to you?"
"Looks like the glyphs are connected to each other?" You answered by asking her.
"Precisely, and then how many glyphs do you see?" Nalice asked.
"I think I can recognise four different glyphs." You said.
"Correct. It says 'I am Nalicatrasza/ the collector/ of ancient artefacts/ and their guardian/'." Nalice said to you and then cleared her throat before spelling it in draconic.
Her voice was growling and husky, but it sounded like a full sentence.
"Mortals will never be able to spell our language without butchering it." Nalice said to you with her normal voice. "But as long as the intent is there, then the words have power in them."
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"By combining the glyphs and writing long sentences, our language starts to resemble…" Nalice stopped to think. "Music."
"Music?" You had to ask.
"Yes, like one of your compositions. And when you write it or sing it." Nalice said as she gave you her confident smile. "It will have power."
"So for example if I were to write a long sentence in draconic that was supposed to make my home invisible, it would work?" You asked her.
