“Then we are finally brought down to the last item.” TalOS said much to the relief of Guilliman, “With all realms there are undesirables, those who will not agree with your new order no matter what you do. Let it be revolutionaries, murderers, or organized criminals. What I want are those people, for the forges are eternally thirsty for bodies.”
That was a request that caught Guilliman off guard, “You want my people?”
“I want those who do not agree with your people and their creed. Let is be worlds that are noncompliant or those who organize themselves against you. I have seen a few of their kind. The kind who cannot see reason when our answer to them is torture conceaved by the Abominable Intellegences of old. They are fools, and it is best for the Mechanicum to receive them than you to terminate them.”
In his time with TalOS Guilliman thought he was growing used to being next to him. A sense of shared humanity that might be useful later on. It was here that Guilliman realized that his unnerving thoughts when he first met his brother were right on the mark.
His brother was a sort of human. One who was divorced from standard experiences. One who so easily asked for the lives of his fellow man as if they were simple goods. Guilliman knew in the end manpower was really numbers, each of whom had their power amplified by equipment, but this was different. He will be selling these people to their damnation.
Was he willing to do it?
Guilliman shifted in his chair as he processed the thoughts. Theoretical; it is much better use of resources as Guilliman would have simply had those people killed. By given them to the Mechanicum these people will still be of use. He will not do this to damn entire worlds, but Guilliman would use it for dissonants. As TalOS suggested, those who did not mesh with his order will be the victims.
Guilliman looked at the Servitor once again and pointed at it, “What is his story. What crime did he commit?”
The eyes of the Fabricator General shifted for a second to scan the face of the cyborg Guilliman pointed out, “Infanticide. It was his Nephew, judged to be a result of either mental breakdown or revenge against the parents. This is his penance.”
So those were the kind of people that were put in this. He can do it, but Guilliman will never give his people for free even if they are murderers, rapists, and gangmembers. At a time like this he needs to see what exactly TalOS would be willing to give, “My brother, these are still my people even if they are against my ideals. I will not outright deny you, but my heart is still heavy with this decision. What will Lucius give for what will likely be millions of souls to be damned by our decision?”
