As shown from the outside the inside of the church was falling apart. Scorch marks were everywhere as far as Lucian’s eyes could see. Where there should have been pews was several bits of broken bits of wood scattered across the place in what looked to be a ruinous fashion.
What got the most interest of Lucian was the large brown stain of blood at the center of the room. He could just imagine within his mind the numerous villagers sitting at the center of this place prayer for salvation as whatever came to kill them attacked from all angles
A daunting prospect, Lucian had to say.
“Swords, axes, and warhammers.” Adok said as he examined the bits of wood that were scattered all around them, “This work wasn’t done by professionals. Could have been other peasants or your militias. Or, perhaps, it could have been beastmen.”
“These Coldbloods do not smell the Children of Chaos. Their stink is pervasive enough to stain and the relics of other gods still stand.” Tee-Nee-Tyny said as he began scaling the wall. Much to Lucian’s surprise the Skink was easily able to climb all the way to the rafters that were above his head and look down upon the numerous ruins. Bok, the Kroxigor, began sniffing the ground like some oversized dog, “The smell of rotting flesh is in the air.”
“But that's probably because of the graveyard outback.” The Dwarf pointed out as they walked towards the large stain on the floor, “But you’re right, Beastmen would not have left this church standing.”
“Yesss.” The Lizardman strung out his tongue as he looked from above, “No signs of rites or ritual it seems. No signs upon the ground that one should take note of.”
“So we simply came across a massacre?” Lucian asked his fellows for clarification.
“A massacre where someone cleaned up their mess. Who knows, maybe it was some bastards wanting to make it look like a massacre but wanted the bodies.” Adok pointed out.
“Perhaps, but they did not touch the Garden. I saw it was grown over, unless this happened weeks ago there should not have been that many weeds in the Garden.” Lucian pointed out, “There’s not much to find out here, so we can move on. We could try to let the Lord know in case there are more of these. Raise the Hue and Cry of what happened here.”
>Thats a good idea
>Lets stay out of local business
>We could spend some time hunting for what did this
