-Well I usually just improvise, speak from the heart... who knows where the journey takes you, how it all ends? Besides, I think it is up to the director to prepare something in advance; sometimes the directors try to throw you off by introducing sudden unexpected emotional landscapes or perspectives on various scenes, or ask you to reconcile these two diametrically opposed conflicting intentions or feelings, almost as if the script were being submitted by utterly random anonymous people! It can seem ridiculous and impossible at times, completely unworkable! And the directors barely tell you anything about the narrative, because often the final script is shrouded in confidentiality agreements, with secrecy being paramount, even if it is just some experimental audience test pilot episode - I swear it can feel like they are just making everything up as they go along sometimes. And for an actress it can get really exhausting inhabiting all these fictional people, it takes tremendous effort, with the risk of becoming incredibly vain and narcissistic and self-centred, projecting the shadow of your own self upon everyone around you - it can seem like the entire world is revolving just around you and your artistic portrayals, as if you are some indispensable being, living in an Indispensable Nation, trying to relate to entirely imaginary events in a myth of your own devising. It would be a terrible fate to befall even a single person, never mind an entire place, a whole city full of ambitious, aspiring celebrities!
Bishop (he is making bizarre gyrating motions on the car seat):
Baby, coming this close to the Sign - it brings back so many memories. When we gonna finally get low, milk that milkshake and lick that lollipop, you know what I'm sayin'? I'm a gonna make you feel like a superhero...
Charlene (rolling her eyes)
- What are you even talking about? What do you even mean?
Bishop
-A superhero, baby! I'm gonna pleasure you so hard, the sheets will be sticking to your beautiful body when you wake up in the morning. Like a cape!
