Out of all these options, the Inventor stood out to you. This was because they were the only ones to reach out to you in response to your inquiries, leading you to believe that they wanted something from you as well. What that was remains to be seen, but you hoped that it was something simple and easily obtainable, like money.
You discussed the idea with Flint, and he agreed to accompany you on your trip to meet up with the mysterious figure. The meeting point was set to be at some rest stop in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, which was about 3 miles from the exact midpoint between both states.
You were wondering whether the Inventor would be bringing backup as well, when your phone started buzzing again. It was your sister, telling you that “she” had come by asking questions again.
You rolled your eyes and groaned internally. This was yet another problem that would need to be addressed. Yuri Watanabe was starting to become a constant thorn in your side.
After Julia had managed to dig up some dirt on the persistent cop, you informed Pandora of her actions and warned that she might be getting too close to the vampire case. Pandora begrudgingly agreed to alter her memory so that she would drop the case, and you thanked her for her services. That should’ve been the end of it.
However, several days later, she came knocking on your door with the exact same speech that she’d given you at Cindy’s party. Only this time, Abe wasn’t there to drive her off. Luckily, Cindy had been training with Moon Knight that day, so you managed to get her to leave before she could return.
When you relayed this information to Pandora, she was visibly disturbed by the news. She tried again that same night, and assured you that she had been thorough. But to your shared displeasure, Yuri came knocking again later that very same week.
For some inexplicable reason, Yuri appeared to have some resistance to mind altering effects. Either that, or the notes that she had left for herself were so well-written that she kept ending up on the same trail after every reset.
Pandora swore that that couldn’t be the case, however, for she had gone through the effort of altering the documents that had contained evidence to make the case appear to be anything other than shut and closed.
But even then, Yuri somehow kept coming back to the same conclusions. You were beginning to doubt Pandora’s prowess in mind-magic, but after witnessing her warp the mind of a necromancer to the point where he truly believed he was a chicken, you were forced to eliminate that possibility.
She promised to investigate the matter further, but you both knew that she was too busy to give a lone cop her complete and total attention. That more or less left things in your hands. And sooner or later, something would have to be done about her.
