>>5329841You run your palm across the pockmarks where you shot the wall.
They're far deeper than anything left on your armor, for sure. Then again, the wall looks like it's made out of aluminum rather than titanium.
You carefully place the weapon against the magnetic holster on your side, fixing into place.
"Now then, let's see who we've got here."
Walking back over to the fluid pods, you see far fewer individuals than previously.
"Hmph, looks like you weren't too good at your job, huh buddy?"
Looking through the pods one after another, you see some pretty ugly mugs in there... and then?
"Hey, wait a minute. Isn't this the guy?"
You activate your helmet light so SHODAN can get a good look through your helmet cam.
<span class="mu-i">"He does seem to match the information we were given."</span>
"Great, but now we've got a problem."
<span class="mu-i">"What would that be, Captain?"</span>
You turn and face the hole in the wall, through which you can see the airlock in the other room, through which you can look out into the glowing hot void of space.
<span class="mu-i">"Ah, yes. I doubt you can get the suit on him before he explodes."</span> SHODAN admits. <span class="mu-i">"Perhaps you should just take the whole pod, then??"</span>
Well, now there's a thought. Looking behind the pods, you see that they're simply bolted to the wall, with a single tether cable, likely for power.
"Yeah, that could work. Only, i'm worried about this AI blowing the ship up just out of spite. He'll probably notice if i rip this thing's umbilical out."
>Go ahead and deal with the AI first. See if it can be reasoned with, like the last one.>Go ahead and "deal with it" using your mace. He's just another enemy.>Just rip the pod out and bolt for the ship. You'll probably be fine.>Write-In?
