>>5836592The day has finally arrived. You wake up early, checking your gear and belongings one last time. After finding everything is in order, you say one final prayer to the Goddess above. You pray that her and your father see you safely through the day, and that you and your friends all return in one piece. Exiting your tent, you find that the comrades that will ride alongside you in the sky are already there waiting for you. Diana, Ava, Anemone, Eleanor and Ingrid stand ready, each straddled atop their own pegasi.
“Are you ready for this, Blair?” Diana asks you, concern in her voice. “There’s no going back now.”
>“As ready as I’ll ever be.”“I’ve been longing for this chance ever since Gronder.” Ava says. “I’ll kill every last Hellwing that crosses my path. They’ll learn full-well that the skies belong to the Blackwings.”
“You don’t have to worry about me up there.” Anemone says. “Focus on nothing but the battle, and I’ll watch your back. Remember, we still have work to do after this.”
“I’ll show you what the Frosted Shrikes are made of.” Eleanor beams with pride. “You won’t regret having chosen us.”
“You saw what we’re capable of when we fight together, Blair.” Ingrid places a hand on your shoulder. “Together we’ll be unstoppable.”
>“Thank you, everyone. Let’s do this.”The Blackwings that have been given special missions by Professor Byleth leave first. They take only a few men with them to the frontlines, where they are to be briefed on what is expected of them. Theo and Corrine meanwhile takes command of the company’s infantry, while Uriel and Rocks are prepared to lead a brutal cavalry charge. Meanwhile, the company’s pegasus knights fall in line under you. As you head out to meet Mary, you’re stopped by Kayla and Elizabeth, who flag you down.
“You’ll be happy to know I’ve been showing your friend here a thing or two during the last few days.” Kayla gestures towards Elizabeth, who vigorously nods. “As long as you don’t get too far out of our eyesight, we’ll be able to keep you and some of the girls alive with our Physic spell.”
“Kayla taught me how to use that magic.” Elizabeth says, praising the instruction of her Sreng tutor. “We’ll protect you as best as we can, Blair. Just please don’t get reckless.”
“She’s right.” Kayla says. “If things get too serious up there, we may not be able to keep up. Not to mention that casting a spell from that distance will take a bit of time. Try to avoid any unnecessary damage.”
>“That sounds almost funny coming from you.”“Exactly. Leave that type of stuff to me.” Kayla warns.
>“Thank you, both of you. I know I’m in good hands.”
