If the likes of Flora, Schierke and Danan couldn't do shit to heal Guts body its because even Od and life energy run on a finite resource unless you resort to sacrifices outside your own pool of mana. Besides that would kinda remove the whole stakes of the story if Vlad could go around healing/reviving people like he's a white mage in Final Fantasy.
