“Indeed there is good in that.” Lucian said as he gave the man a scarred smile, “I am always there when the enemies of man are to strike against us. So we will survive, for I will make it so.”
“Then I hope you’re right, Bretonii.” The man said with a chuckle, “For all our sakes I hope you’re right.”
The man was about to leave but with someone’s attention the Knight decided that he should ask his questions, “If you have a moment I wanted to ask you a question. Bok, this Kroxigor who is my fellow, doesn’t seem to be a terror to your people. Why?”
The man turned back towards Lucian with a little confusion written on his face. Then he gave a small nod, “His kind are not so far away from here and we see them occasionally. We know that they have a place to the north of here, near what is the greatest mountain in the region. They tend not to fight unless someone goes towards them, so it is always best that we keep our distance.”
“So they are of this land?” Lucian questioned, “Near the mountain?”
“Yes, near the mountain.” The man said as he glanced at the Kroxigor, “There is something I’ve been wondering if you don’t mind me asking, but where is his little one? I’ve rarely ever seen these monsters without their little companions.”
“We… are looking for him.” Lucian admitted as he shined a hesitant smile, “I know he must live for this one lives. Its only a matter of times for us to find him and my other companions.”
Before the man could say something there was a loud blowing of a horn that carried itself through what was a normal night’s silence. Suddenly the entire room began moving as men got their arms and weapons together. Lucian himself was quick to grab his scythe while Bok rose from his slumber in a fully aware and prepared state.
Once the messenger came to give them their report and orders, they were soon charging towards the scene where the greatest amount of carnage was coming from.
