"Sir Mouse! I'm glad you made it." Klaus approaches you, his wife at his side smiling warmly. "Lady Chloe. Guardians." They greeted your entourage.
"Well of course. It sounded important." You shrug. "Can you tell me what this council is actually about?"
"I don't know the specifics yet either," Klaus said. " but I understand Lady Celestine had called for a council to convene, with all of the political factions and players represented, in order to decide on response to the attempted coup."
"Mr. Mouse, did something happen? Something feels... different about you." Claudia says, prompting both you and Klaus to give her a surprised look. You assume that it's in both cases for the same reason but Klaus quickly dispels that notion.
"You can feel it too?" The scholarly prince asks. "I was thinking it's just excitement of the work we've done but I too get this distinct feeling..."
"What do you mean?" You ask. "Chloe?" You turn to your half elven companion.
"I have no idea what they're talking about..." The queen's shadow hesitates.
"It's the mark of the goddess." Minerva explains.
"She is truly with us now." Diana nods.
Could it be? Was the connection you made with the goddess during your last venture something that was this visible to others? On one hand, your quest lends itself well to such a connection, probably... on the other hand, could such a phenomenon also spell trouble?
You focus briefly on introspection, and despite feeling a bit guilty at drawing this comparison, try to recall sensations from when the presence infesting the dark relic made attempts to subvert you...
...and find no similarities whatsoever. That is not to say you don't feel anything at all. There is a vague sense of warmth, and you feel like you could banish it if you so desired. But for now, not wishing to risk it, you decide to not prod it further.
Hopefully you'd be able to glean something more during next chance to sleep or meditate.
"Mouse?" Klaus asks with a worried tone. "You looked like you spaced out for a moment."
"Ah. I apologise, I was only contemplating how to comment on that... it's a longer story, you see."
"...does it have to do with what you were asking me about earlier? Meditation and transcendence?" The white haired prince made the connection.
"It does."
"Oh my. I can't wait to hear it. But I guess it'll have to wait. Let's go, it seems the meeting is about to begin."
And in truth the corridor around you has emptied itself out as most of the groups talking in it have broken up, with the notables walking into the hall while their advisors and messengers disappeared in either direction, some of them settling in on the benches in anticipation of the meeting's conclusion.
You joined Klaus and Claudia as they moved to enter the meeting hall, Chloe at your heels, while the twin golems automatically headed to flank the doors to keep watch from the outside.
