"Don't tell anyone this, but I've already beaten him in a duel once."
"Wh-WHAAAAT?" Schierke and Isidro shout in unison, making you force to gather them around and tell the proper story.
"So this was back when I was still learning my powers..."
"--And then I bonked him on the back of the head, must have struck a main artery, he just blacked out and stopped responding?"
"Just like that?"
"I thought it was over, but after that he got up and started getting serious. Didn't think he would break my lace with his sword, if it wasn't for my ability to harden wood, I would have probably died on the first swing."
"With each passing day, I'm starting to question where you and Guts measure on the cool scale, It's like you keep one-upping each other."
"What happened then?"
"Somehow, I managed to push his great sword away from my head as I caught it with my hands. Casca and my master decided to call it quits then for the sake of our safety. Officially, it was a draw, but I like to think I've won. Gallahad even backed me up on that one."
You reminisce of simpler times with a chuckle, back when you thought that you could get along with Griffith, Guts and Casca in hopes of joining the falcons, to protect the glorious king of Midland... what a load of garbage that was.
"Ah, but that was what, a few years ago? Things have changed significantly since then! I sure hope you won't be like an old man and stop getting with the times!" Schierke scoffs, being on Guts' side.
"Hey, I'm still young, ya know."
"Sure you are, old timer!" Isidro finally gets along with the green haired girl after finding a target in common. "Do you think you still could beat him now?"
"Hm, I'm not sure exactly. Even back in the day, I would say he was stronger than me physically, were it not for my magical abilities, I doubt I would have the edge to even fight him in a mock-match back then, and my physical training has mostly been playing catchup as the gap between us widened during the eclipse."
"Are you still chasing him?" Schierke tilts her head
"Not quite... I'd say I have searched for newer heights, and those have led me to new abilities. Hopefully we will never have to battle to the death by ourselves, but I would not go easy on him. I can only expect he would give me the same level of respect."
Both of you could theoretically decapitate one another in different methods, but that would require both of you being at the summit of your strength, with intent to kill.
You need to make sure that time never comes.
"Schierke, I was wondering if you could help me with something." The subject reminds her of your magical lessons, prompting her to get her reading glasses.
"Of course, what is it?"
