>>5468345"I promise." you tell him telepathically. "I won't kill him until King Cold or someone else gives the order."
"Very well. Then head on over, and let's get you into the robot." Arctus replies, you and Meloka sharing a look. But before either of you can ask, he continues, addressing Meloka directly. “However, Meloka, I cannot have you here on the ship.
If your massive power is sensed as well, the gig'll be up. Instead I'll have to have you wait there, on New Salda until King Cold arrives as well. Once he's here, then you can come down for support and to watch Karn's back.”
“I see. Very well, I can wait.” your wife replies to him, then turns to you. Wordlessly she flies up, kissing you deep and passionately for several seconds before letting you go. “Go get 'em hun.”
“I will.” you reply, bringing your right hand back to your forehead and focusing on Arctus's power through the telepathic link. It only takes a moment, then as you do you take a deep breath in, then power down as you exhale. Your body shrinks dramatically back down into your base form, powerlevel decreasing by the second. Feeling Arctus's power through the link, you keep dropping your own strength until it is noticeably below his own. Then, with your power now sufficiently suppressed, you focus, and teleport. One instant you are on your home world, the next you find yourself in zero gravity. Which confuses you, but before you can react Arctus grabs you.
“C'mon Karn, get in the robot.” he says, launching you towards the giant mech's open torso. Where the young man your daughter'd healed, Mikazuki, catches your hand.
“Easy, grab on.” he says simply, swinging you to a bar that you can grab onto. Which you do, then look into the cockpit space. Where sits a single chair, two arm grips, as well as some sort of plug into the back of the seat. You notice the opposite, a metal dome-like structure built into the back of the younger man's suit that would no doubt plug into the mech and allow him to pilot it. But how're YOU supposed to move it? And as if reading your thoughts, Arctus flies up to a stop by the both of you.
“Don't worry about piloting, that's what I've got this for.” Arctus says, showing you the small computer screen on his wrist with what looks like an outline of the white suit. “Just get in and get comfortable, I'll remote pilot Bael here when we touch down planet side.”
