“What’s wrong?” You’re going to listen to what Vera has to say.
“We just went through a wild set of events, you don’t think we should talk about them?” Vera is dumbfounded by your outward chillness. It’s supposed to calm her down, not make her question your sanity. Maybe being too aloof only shows disinterest in others… You’re going to keep that in mind for the future.
“I mean, where do we start?” You give a half chuckle that sounds like you almost choked on your own spit. Great.
“All you did, all you said, all you are doing… do you mean it? Like, actually mean it?” Vera wants to make sure of something…
“I don’t remember lying.” You might be dumb, but she’s not giving you much to work with to understand what she’s talking about specifically.
“You want me to live a normal life? What was all that about?” Vera says. Half angry, half confused. Or is it concern?
“Oh, that. I mean, that’s what you want, right? Not being chased by the mafia or any type of weirdos?” You ask back.
“Duh, but you went a little too far. And by little, I mean way too far. I thought one of those imbeciles was going to sucker punch you in the back of the head for being such a little numbskull. I mean, I’m thankful, I really am! But I don’t want you to get hurt!” Vera gets angry at you.
“I can take it. I mean, I rather not take it, but you get what I mean. I want to help you.” You’re here for her!
