“Alright… Here I come!” Shin shouts, charging forward. He’s a little faster than you might’ve thought, but still nothing special. He hefts his blade above his head and swings down with a lot of power, but he only hits air, you having dodged to the side at the last moment. You could’ve avoided the attack earlier, but… It would probably be best to let Shin have a <span class="mu-i">little</span> hope of winning.
Shin swings at you with both hands repeatedly, as you dance backwards gracefully on your tiptoes, purposefully only barely avoiding the strikes hitting you. You have to bite your tongue to avoid insulting and taunting the other boy, already feeling your ego get ahead of yourself. It’d make him angry and sloppy, but it was probably best not to alienate him in that way so early, especially considering that the fact that he couldn’t hit you was frustrating him enough already.

under swings, you idly wondered when to end the farce and actually attack. You eyed the crowd around you that had formed, many of which had begun to cheer for Shin. It seemed like you’d successfully managed to make it look like you were on the ropes, despite the truth being anything but. Kazeko’s eyes remained on you the entire time, however.
And suddenly, the chance arrives. Shin swings even wider than usual, frustration getting to him, leaving an opening even a child could see. Quick as a flash, you thrust with your bokken, hitting him clean in the face and causing his head to snap back, before you swipe at his extended leg, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground.
You raise your bokken up, resting it on your shoulder as you look at the boy on the ground, smirking at him. “Looks like round 1’s mine.”
Angry, Shin pops right back up, hands tightly gripping his shinai. To the side, you can see Kazeko shake her head. “Let’s go again!”
