They continued to walk through the tunnel, now starting to branch out into numerous ones which all seemed somewhat insignificant to the Dwarf who was leading them. Adok was guiding them through the area as if he was a native to this place and that its inner workings was designed by his own hands.
Such was the reason that he did not express surprise when there was light at the end of their tunnel.
“Why in the name of gods is there a light down there!” Adolf spoke aloud as he stopped to look at the brightness.
“We are right underneath the city.” Adok said as he shined his light towards the wound in the ceiling. He continued his march not caring that he was now making distance between both of his companions, “I felt a breeze since we walked in this and wondered why I was feeling it so easily. Looks like someone dug themselves into one of the peasant wells.”
The meaning of the words were obvious to Lucian as the Dwarf knew he would pick up on it. This was likely the same well that Madman Mason fell down and had been living inside of. But he was not just living within the well but the entire sewer network.
“Why did no one realize it? This place would have contaminated an entire ward’s water supply wouldn’t it?” The Imperial pointed out as he closed the gap between him and the blinding light.
“A sick Bretonnian Peasant and a healthy one are barely different creatures. They might have simply stopped using the well as well.” Adok began making excuses, not wanting to say that people stopped using it because they knew thought the place was home to one of their insane brotherin.
“But this is a grave issue. Something has been digging the tunnels wider! As a sewerjack I was told to watch for these things.” Adolf was now with Adok in the sunlight. The light of which seemed to make the darkness even more acute as they stood there discussing and arguing.
