“You're welcome, Durah.” Towa says flatly, lowering the spear and sending it back from her hand to wherever she'd conjured it from before turning back to you. “So, what's the plan, Karn?”
Only for Okira's stomach to growl audibly in the silence, answering the question without words.
“I see.” Towa answers, you all making your way out of the lab and into your ship proper, going to the mess hall where Silver and his disciples have already prepared a meal. Sitting down, you all get to eating, only for Towa to reach out telepathically as you all dig in. “I assume you coming to me wasn't just to introduce her to me.”
“Yeah. I had questions about this 'Room of Spirit and Time'.” you reply, also telepathically as you devour the honeyed, slightly salty meat off the bone. “Anything with it I should be aware of, any conditions Dumplin didn't mention?”
And you two have a telepathic conversation while eating, Towa telling you much the same as what he'd told you earlier. You then tell her everything about the Tuffle, as well as what Chilli had done on his world.
“Crystallization to absorb energy? Interesting. Perhaps...” Towa says aloud, Meloka glancing to the two of you between bites. You see her right brow twitch a moment before going back to her meal, Towa lost in thought as she considers things you probably wouldn't get before continuing telepathically. “And you said that he was stronger than you?”
“Yeah, it wasn't close. If he were an enemy, I probably wouldn't have lived.” you reply, Towa's eyes widening at this.
“Perhaps he and I need to chat. See if we can't devise some method of defeating those machines.” Towa <span class="mu-i">thinks</span>. “If they can absorb your power, then perhaps...”
At this she ends the link, you having given her plenty to consider. And as the meal ends, you sighing in content, you have only one question:
