A proposal was cast, his hand extended to see what he would get back. Such were the issues of negotiation that he knew would always happen. Even people who are awed by the presence of Guilliman’s transhuman figure would quickly forget about it the moment he starts to encroach upon their money.
Looking at his brother Guilliman knew there were going to be some trades and caveats. There always were. Maybe Roboute placed his hand too far forward for this negotiation and that he is going to be asked something unreasonable. If the price outweighed the benefit, no matter how large the benefit, then it was practical to shut down negotiation.
He will simply need to wait and see.
“There are four points of contention that I need to have realized.” TalOS proposed, “One will be a clarification, the others requests. Of the clarification, you speak of all technology. You know that as a Priest of the Mechanicum any science that is found to be xenos in origin must be disposed of.”
Guilliman gave a simple nod knowing that while held in religious dogma there were plenty of reasons for this, “I understand. As long as both Macragge and Lucius stand witness to its destruction I agree with it. You know more than me, and for that I trust you for that determination.”
And just in case, it would also prevent anyone under TalOS from slipping technology that should have been destroyed. Guilliman felt he could trust his brother. It was those he could not see that he needed to be wary of.
“I understand. It will be arranged.” TalOS agreed with a small nod, “The next is that there are likely Forge Worlds within the sphere of influence that you are building. If you find ones of sufficient size then you are to inform me about them so that I may visit them to bring them into the Mechanicum.”
Reasonable but with underlying meaning. Guilliman had heard that his brother was a close follower of Mar’s law. This agreement however was a stickler since it might be seen as a power grab. When it came to Mechanicum power politics. If sides were going to be drawn into the sand Guilliman would take the person before him who shared his blood. After all it was blood which was the strongest tie.
“You shall have your words with them as to the Treaty of Olympus. It is the domain of the Mechanicum, it does not matter to me how your Cult decides to enforce them.” Guilliman answered in such a way to give both permission and keep his distance lest issues were to come up.
