Isaac acts fast and tries to punch the attacker in the groin, but the son kicks him and knocks him out, before he enters a battle stance at your group.
A stand-off forms between you, Charlie, Narci and Typhu on one side, and the family on the other, their weapon’s disguise falling just like the katana’s, revealing the mother’s pair of long revolvers and the daughter’s dangerous looking parasoul.
But that was just the beginning. Like the weapons, the disguise from the members falls like glass.
The daughter turns into a girl even shorter than you with hair an odd combination of pink and brown with a single stripe of white. She smiles widely at you and you could swear her eyes changed color.
The mother goes from a middle aged woman to a girl your age, she has brown skin and mint green hair. She looks annoyed at how the situation ended up.
The boy doesn’t change much, his hair just decolorates into a shade of dark gray. You notice how he doesn’t seem to carry a gun, but he seems wholly unworried about fighting, instead smirking a bit.
But the father is the one who catches your attention. His hair red and bull horns appear, the form of a frail old senior gets replaced with that of a young, strong man currently holding Sun hostage. He looks at you with a single blue eye.
Adam Taurus. The same horrible day you met Coco, you also met Adam, then a little boy with both eyes. While you and Coco were too scared to keep going, Adam showed courage and inspired you to do anything to help the other kids.
You met him on several occasions afterwards, each one showing the then innocent boy growing more bleak.
The last time you two met was during a trip to Mistral a year ago. You were training in the wilderness with your grandmother and stumbled upon a camp of sorts. Faunus wearing white masks were loading up Dust into big barrels, making improvised explosives.
Adam found you sneaking around. You didn’t understand until you saw he too was wearing a white mask.
That day you returned beaten within an inch of your life to Maria and Adam returned with a nasty new scar in his chest.
“Calavera,” he coldly says.
How do you respond?
>”Taurus.” You match his cold energy. Feeling nothing but contempt.
>”Never wanted see your face again.” You are wary of him.
>You stay silent.
>”Fancy meeting you here.” A part of you can’t help but feel amused at meeting him again.
>”Adam…” You feel sadness at seeing the person who helped you all those years ago still going down that same path.
