In an instant, it has crossed the gap between you, and your axes meet in a titanic clash of steel that resonates loudly throughout the entire lab. The gleam of your weapons as well as the activation of your Crests lights up the dull darkness that had permeated the room, blinding those who were watching your duel. The construct shares not just your strength, but your instinct for battle as well. Its opening overhead strike is exactly how you would have started this fight, and you are able to meet the weapon mid swing. In doing so, you feel as though you understand both this foe and yourself a little better, and you now realize you cannot prolong this battle.
It would not be accurate to say that you were fighting an exact copy of yourself. In truth, though this being supposedly lacked greater thought, it had its own advantages that you did not share. This creature swung its axe with no regard for fatigue. Not only that, it had the advantage in terms of Crest usage as well. Due to the strain it placed on your body, you were normally limited in how often you could call upon the powers of Indech and Macuil. This creature with its undying fortitude, likely did not share those same issues. You were sure that the longer this battle went on, the less likely it would be that you emerged victorious.
>Crest of Indech>Construct: 26 STR + 12(SA) = 38 - 20 DEF = 18x2 = 36 DMG>Tristain: 17/53 HP (Resolve Activated)The construct’s axe lashes out viciously, your armor only barely protecting against its power and bite. Twin flashes of blue denoting the Crest of Indech trail across the blows as the attacks emerge quicker than you can see. Your armor is nearly caved in and your left shoulder is dislocated, but you still stand strong and on your feet. Your assumption about the creature’s fighting habits prove to be true. Once it has started swinging, it won’t stop until its foe has been torn apart, not even considering switching to potentially more effective magic. In fighting this way, it gives no thought to any sort of defence or self-preservation, which is exactly what you count on. Leaving itself wide-open as it cocks its arm back for a third strike, you jump on the attack.
>Tristain: 27 STR + 12(SA) + 7 (Resolve) = 46 - 20 DEF = 26x2 = 52 DMG>Construct: 0/51You wouldn’t even need your Crest for this, your brain and aptitude for combat proving to be an even more effective weapon. As Nadia said, the construct possessed no potential for greater intellect. It either did not consider or did not care that attacking you first would allow you to counter with greater strength. It could use its Crests as much as it liked, but at the end of the day it was still just a mindless beast.
