Of all the things to experience it was not the dunes of Lucius or the halls of his own vessel that TalOS saw. The first he felt was an immense amount of power coming into him and in an instant all hunger that he was feeling had ebbed away.
In an instant TalOS knew who was standing before him for he had experienced the exact same thing once before several years ago.
+Emperor.+ TalOS said as he crawled out of his containment and looked his creator in the eye.
It was hard to describe the emotions that TalOS had at this moment but he knew full well what his father was experiencing. There was an undertone of anger, but he was giving to TalOS sympathy and sorrow that one would give to their son. It was a cocktail that the Pariah would have enjoyed if he was not satisfied by the man’s sheer presence.
Looking upon the man TalOS saw a giant of a man, one who was easily the size of his brother Vulkan. These changes were not caused by the presence of the warp, a manipulation upon his subconscious mind, +Biomancy, your form is maintained through biomancy.+
+Yes, it is.+ The Emperor spoke in a tone that could only align with the Mechanicum’s Binaric. He did not have a single augmentation upon his body though, as TalOS studied him, no he spoke that using the warp.
For some reason as TalOS spoke those words he felt there was a shard of happiness within the aura of the Emperor now. Happiness likely within the fact that TalOS still held his sanity. Happiness that he was still of use. Happiness that one of his kin still walked the galaxy.
It was an odd taste, TalOS realized, but not an unpleasant one.
+Malcador had told me about your experiments at the galactic rim and your goal. I held you off because I wanted to know what you discover.+ He looked closely upon TalOS with eyes that showed a deep sorrowful pitty, +You succeeded in one of your goals.+
+I have. While many have died on the way they all knew the chances of death that laid before them. Do you know how many died at my ascension?+ TalOS asked as he had enough willpower to look directly into his father’s eyes.
+Nineteen souls were sacrificed for your augmentation.+ The Emperor informed TalOS as he produced a small sheet of paper, +These are their names, so that you may remember their sacrifices.+
TalOS accepted the paper and scanned it with his eyes. Besides the Fabricator Lord, none of the names on the list were of immediate concern. He felt a small moment of relief knowing that his son and Ahriman survived, but that did not mean he would not mourn those who were lost.
