As TalOS tinkered on the item he felt a presence. The next instant all of the Psi-Sensory equipment flatlined to Omega levels. Slowly the Arch Dominus turned to see a rather meek looking girl looking in fear. She was obviously about to run from the situation but TalOS’s attention caused her to halt.
+Ah, Vera, it is a pleasure seeing you come by.+ TalOS said as he shinned the girl a smile, +Have you and Trig been enjoying being able to walk among my peers.+
+Y-yes.+ She said while looking at the ground in shame, +I-I’m sorry to have disturbed you. Do you want me to leave?+
+No.+ TalOS said outright as he gave a smile, +I needed a break anyways. I see you have learned to use the Vox Caster.+
She reached over and grabbed the device that was in her neck for a moment. There was a moment of pain on her face as she gave it a half hearted tug.
+Sorry to have to remind you of it.+ TalOS gave a small chuckle as he thought to himself, +It is common for people to react poorly remembering they have augmentations. Many of my sons had the same face you made at one point in their conversion.+
+The really big guys!?+ She said with sheer surprise evident from the Vox Caster.
+Of course! They are human after all.+ TalOS answered her surprise with a little glee, +I would suggest not touching it too much though. Doing that will only raise your anxiety about it.+
+Understood.+ She answered while quickly removing her hand from the device.
There was a moment’s lul as TalOS turned back to his work and looked at the sudden results he was getting. To his astonishment the electrical current was going through the crystal as if it was a piece of metal. He leaned back for a moment as hypothesis began to infiltrate his mind.
+Excuse me.+ TalOS heard the voice of Vera get closer. He turned to see the girl sheepishly look up at him with her head still down, +C-Can I see what you are doing?+
+Yes!+ TalOS cheered as he reached down to her, +Don’t move or I might lose my grip.+
With a tug TalOS sent her flying upwards and landing on the table. Normally people might have a problem with a child being on their table, but the table TalOS used was frankly too high up for the girl to simply sit in his lap and watch his work.
