As he scribbles, you ask if anything strange has been going on in Granite City recently, as in the last few days.
He stares at you discerningly for a second and then chuckles, "Funny. I've heard people talking about seeing, and even being briefly questioned, by government agents. Perhaps it's not the aliens you are with, but them? Only the funny thing is no one can ever seem to remember what these fellow's faces looked like. So... Tell me Mr. 'Smith'... You got a face under all that hair?"
You clear the hair out of your face to show you indeed have one. You also introduce yourself as Ma- Marley. You tell him your name is Marty. You have a bad feeling about giving this gentlemen your actual moniker.
"I've seared that face into my mind's eye, boy. And just so you know, memory manipulation machines don't work on me. Oh, also my name is Ted. Or Mr. Steinsson if you'd prefer." The Psychic Shaman says, pacified.
You ask why government agents might be snooping around, getting an idea who they might be.
"Well they are always around Sometimes watching you through the cameras and the 5G towers, and sometimes literally." Ted says waving off the question. "Usually they are good at hiding, so something big must be going on. People say they'd only ask them a question or two and then excuse themselves, and it was always questions about Granite City. At first I was worried they might be after me, so I put on my concealing helmet."
He points to his tinfoil hat and says, "Passed down for generations. I made it look like a tinfoil hat so those guy's think I'm just some nutjob. I think it's worked,because they never bothered to ask me anything."
You ask if anything supernatural or similar has happened.
"Well, me and a few of the others sleep in the abandoned houses out next to the grocery parking lot. They say the place is haunted. I think they might be full of it though. I've been out on my EMF meter the last two nights and didn't detect anything." He says shaking his head. "And they still say they've been hearing the ghost thump around more and more. I'm starting to think maybe it isn't ghosts but some invisible demon of some kind."
You try to listen, but he starts to go into something about the pyramids and some UFOs and a collaboration with the Elephant Men and the fake moon landing. Even if it were true, it doesn't really have anything to do with Granite City in particular. He seems to have gone off track.
