The landscape itself was a demonstration on the intelligence of Orks. Before the magnificent walls of the Mitu's likely genius engineering were the numerous one and two story metal shacks that could barely be described as residency. It was a shining example that Orks were the lowest form of intelligence and ultimate form of the scavenger.
UZ1 knew all this and more to be true. Even now as she walked the settlement her Psi-Scanner was demonstrating that somewhere among that insanity there was true power behind it. Let it be the power of the Orks or whatever foul gods handcrafted them for war she did not know.
+Whatever Gods lay out there in wait for us. The Plastoids, the Orks, and the Mitu, all of them worship some form of blasphemous god. Even the Emperor, the one who claims there is no divines, is clearly one of them.+ UZ1 spoke within her systems as they started walking down the streets.
She could only take a moment and pray to the Machine God. Out of all the Gods in the Universe he was the one who chose humanity to champion. Through him humanity gained knowledge, wisdom, and power to fight against these horrors.
With a snap of her mind she checked what was happening on all sides of the battlefield. Her mind’s eye witnessing what each and every augmented individual was made to witness.
The first was the main spearhead, the fighting with the Astartes and the Skitarii found themselves measured up with the Orks. Out of her fifteen Vanguard she had lost three of them, but in return for their deaths they had killed thirty seven of the highest form of greenskin. This ratio, when compared to normal tactics, meant that the Skitarii were performing thirteen times more optimal than what could be previously expected in close quarters combat with the Orks.
This was likely for two fold reasons which involved the Astartes. With the Astartes present the Orks would attack the much larger and melee oriented Legionnaires than both going for the weak scraps of the Skitarii. The second though was that the Skitarii, knowing themselves of lesser value than the Astartes, would occasionally throw themselves into the brawl to weaken the orks for their fellows.
That was the ultimate cost of two of the deaths, Skitarii throwing themselves into the brawl when their Machine Spirits realized that the Space Marines were about to lose one of their own due to being flanked.
As was mandated, UZ1 recorded their deaths and names for the records. It was in the knowledge of this, after all, that the Skitarii threw themselves with such fervor against the foes of the Machine God.
It was then that her Psi Sensors quickly began to beep.
