A flurry of violence, with all manner of munitions that could be hurled at the Twaryians, brought an end to the initial fighting at the outskirts of Kobberhus. The Twaryians, after an initial fight with the array of armor and infantry now brought against them, quickly chose retreat, a portion of them aided by a smoke bombardment from the now-present mortars, forced to cover a retreat rather than doing what friendly mortars were now doing and pounding enemy positions.
Eberhardt’s platoon, in its first battle, took heavy punishment from multiple angles, but with the support of their armored vehicles’ guns, if not their steel protection, being dismounted, they drove the enemy from the outskirts. A bloody triumph, but there was no time yet to lick their wounds. After all, this battle had only just started- and the entry of the foes who would test the mettle of the battalion most was felt, that whisper on the wind that told senses beyond those normally perceived of a dangerous enemy.
