Terra was, as always, a planet of golden sands. It was devoid of all waters that were previously on the world, such precious liquids being drained into the warmachines of both the original Terran Federation as well as the Mechanicum of Mars.
Water, after all, was a valuable resource no matter where you went. Upon Terra where the waters were not only plentiful but purified enough for void travel was beyond any shipman’s dream. For yes a vessel could visit a planet like Europa for water needs but the ice and waters would all be contaminated with some form of plague or impurity that would bring harm to the crew and people. Terra, and planets like it, do not suffer from such problems.
Traveling from Mars to Terra was easily done due to the alignment of the planets. Rogal Dorn had picked the correct time for him to infiltrate the Red Planet and as such created the perfect chance for them to reap the benefits of a decision.
Mars, when the Omnissiah glanced back, was devoid of large amounts of machines and divinity that it once held. Taken by the Imperial Fists for their Fortress upon Terra the home of the Cult Mechanicus was as close to its original state when humans first began their colonization of the world.
The Worshiper was saddened by this and so was the Will of his God. Both of them were enjoyers of these machines and stripping the planets of them was something that was profound in action. To do so to Mars could be seen as a Heresy. However it was the Adeptus Mechanicus who carried out such ‘heresy’ for they accepted the state of affairs for what it was.
The Cult Mechanicus would become but a gone if the Emperor falls. The Void Dragon’s gambit to having a chosen people gone as the Gods of another realm simply turn the material reality into their plaything.
In the Emperor, the one who the Machine God would claim to be the God of Mankind, was the source of their safety. He needed to survive lest Chaos reigned.
Such was the reason they traveled to Terra. To build the final defense against the coming onslaught.
