The giant eye's silver pupil widens a bit. It impassively stares at your group. Waiting for you to do something. Or maybe it simply wants to watch you. Constantly. Its gaze is unbreaking.
You don't think this thing even has eyelids. The eye's sclera is pretty bloodshot, have they not been giving this thing eyedrops? How cruel.
You toss the holy tears over to Maruyama. He uncaps the bottle before gingerly pouring it onto the eyeball. Given how big it is, he just pours the whole thing onto the eye. Might as well be a drop for it.
The redness fades as the holy tears run down the eyeball's engorged surface. Its pupil shifts to stare down at Maruyama. His body tenses up as he's unsure if he pissed it off or not. Its gaze softens for a brief moment before it shifts its focus to you and Max.
Maruyama wipes the sweat from his brow. "Woo."
>MARUYAMA heals 1 RESTRAINT and gains minor RESTRAINT regeneration from the eye's soft gaze. He's at 9/9 RESTRAINT now!
I can see you better now. O glorious. Knotted flesh and tendons, bags under your beautiful eyes.
I must keep you in my sight.
Despite the ethereal voice you hear in your head (a common side effect of close proximity to an anomaly) the anomaly seems otherwise unable or unwilling to communicate with you. It simply stares. Endlessly.
Max is nervously glancing around at the smaller eyes plastered around the walls and ceiling of the cell. She's trying to keep a brave face but she's understandably freaked out by them.
>-2 RESTRAINT to Max! 5/9 LEFT!
>+6% PROGRESS due to A-ENERGY REGULATION BRACELET.
"So. Got any great ideas, Nicole?" Her gaze shifts between you and the airlock outta here.
"I do. Don't worry, we'll leave it be soon enough. We just need to show it a few things, okay?"
"Right! Right! The...giant eyeball thing."
You dig through your inventory for some of your old maps. You gesture at Max to pull out her own. It takes her a moment but she pulls out her own map. The two of you hold it up towards the eyeball.
It and its many smaller eyes disappointedly examine the maps at first. Something seems to catch their eye(s) (heh!) and before you know it, their gazes rapidly dart across the maps with lightning-fast speed.
Maruyama has to step in to mark down which locations the eyes seem to have the most interest in since you and Max have NO FUCKING clue what it's doing. After a solid minute of it scanning the maps from top to bottom, they immediately lose interest in them. Well, let's see what he marked down.
There only seems to be three locations nearby the base that the eyes seem to have taken any real interest in. A small arms manufacturing facility 5 miles away from here, an old P-Company owned electric station and a storage warehouse. The latter two seem to be 8 miles away from the base. Maruyama scribbled a bunch of scratchy lines connecting them to the base.
>35!
Oh.
Oh no. Power, weapons and spare supplies. You're going with your gut on this but...
