>>6047214So, first thing’s first, you get a brief moment to look over some of the liberated worlds, but you end up not spending especially long on them. Zelos for the most part has calmed his people, though the loss of the Consciousness Grid is causing some problems with those that were used to relying on it for guidance, with some very clearly having a… crisis of faith, more or less. That might be something he needs to be wary of. There are those however that seem relieved, less tense, more… free, now that it’s not something hanging over (inside?) their heads.
The world Yao claimed as her main domain on the other hand is much more chaotic, seeing as it turned out to be a political capital of sorts. Without their “Dragon Goddess” keeping many of their less savory members in line, factions have started popping up trying to stake a claim to whatever they can. Territory, influence, Magical artifacts, research, it’s… a powder keg that’s only barely kept from exploding by them not knowing the intentions of those that brought down Yao, with many having quickly attempted to gain favor with Hearts instead. He wants none of it. His only declaration to them has been calling for them to forge their own paths beyond the iron-fisted rule of the gods.
It does bring up a point you want to address with him directly, though. “Hearts, listen, I feel like we’ve been skirting around this conversation for a while now. The deities we of Universe 7 have worked with are for the most part truly benevolent. The Kami of multiple worlds, the Kais, Grand Kai, even Supreme Kais have all had our backs, helped us in numerous ways, and… I guess are kinda the opposite of how the Archons of this world operate. This isn’t going to cause any problems later, is it? Are you okay with our more open, friendly relationship they have with us mortals, and vice-versa?”
As he walks away from one of the massive political buildings on the planet with you and Chiaotzu, hands in his pockets, he glances over at you. “If I were to be completely honest, I have some lingering distrust towards many Gods, something formed by my own experiences. I have seen them lord over mortals while claiming benevolence… and also condemn them due to apathy or even malice. I truly wish to see worlds free from that kind of influence, free from tyranny. I recognize that mortals can and do make mistakes, let darker influences run rampant, even commit horrors that boggle the mind to comprehend. But all the same, I’ve seen mortals show they can do better, be better, all on their own, not strictly forced to improve themselves but strive to be the best they can be. From the sound of things, the Gods you know have no heavy hand in managing mortal affairs, and only intervene when dire situations call for it. I can accept those actions, and I can accept that your people work with deities like that.”
