>>5325864Still, as the robot gears up for another strike, you can’t help but think back on that orb. It hadn’t crossed your mind before, but, looking at it again, there’s something about it that makes you think it’s more important than you had initially thought.
Could that be the battery? Or the core?
Like anything that’s breakable or punchable, there’s only one way to find out.
Letting go of the shoulder plate, your sparks fly from your claws as they scrape the plates leading down to the chest.
Unlike your fight with Gregor, where the roach-man had no qualms about hitting himself, the guardian seems to have some reserve about trying to hit itself; it’s why any attempts to squish you are few and careful, if at all.
Skreeeeeeeeee– You’re sliding backwards and downwards, and you know you’re going to end up on the ground.
But, if you time it right, you can land a good hit on the core at least once.
One… You’re nearly vertical as you steel yourself for the hit.
Two… The gold shines into your eyes, bright and hot in your face.
Three! You drive a fist right into the core, feeling it crack beneath the strike, and, as a result, you end up letting go of your handhold.
All-too-quickly, you’re plummeting towards the ground, and there’s a you-shaped indent in the ground from where you landed, the ground splintering and cracking in all directions from the point of impact.
Backing yourself right out of the guardian’s kill-zone, you’re not surprised that it’s still standing. While you got a good hit on the core, you didn’t break it, so you assume that’s why it’s still “alive.”
