“The dullness you see is caused by the flow of light being manipulated. I require that energy for myself, consuming it for my personal wellbeing.” TalOS said as he outstretched a hand, “Such are the flows of the Motive Force.”
“I might be ignorant, but you do not have an active refractor field turned on. If you did have one active then I would see the glimmer of the warp wrapping your body.” Magnus said as his eyes studied the exposed skin of TalOS, “What I see are ever subtle changes under the skin. A constantly shifting of mass similar to what my son’s experienced.”
“To answer that question I would need to break one of the oaths that I have been bound to.” TalOS told his brother with a hint of respect laced within it, “But you are off on that matter. What happens underneath my skin is not directly related to the flow of radiation upon my skin.”
“If it is not machine and it is not sorcery of the Warp, what is it you found?” That was the moment Magnus’s eyes had a glint in them.
TalOS gave a small laugh as they finally arrived at their destination, “There are secrets in the Universe I am still learning. The Cult Mechanicus has been aware of it since our creation, but only now do I know the truth of the matter.”
“Then it would be the… Motive Force?” The Psyker guessed after a moment’s thought to himself, “It actually exists?”
“Mankind had been blinded to its existence thanks to the presence of the Warp. As I am no longer of the Warp, I feel the flow of reality upon my very soul.” TalOS said as they breached the front door and made their way towards a table.
The two of them made it to the table and sat upon it. TalOS was allowed to relax his muscles which had been both active and constantly under the strain of rearrangement by the nanomachines which flowed through his blood.
TalOS’s body, in the end, was no longer that of a ‘True Primarch’. A Primarch is a creation of both science and sorcery that allows them to go far and beyond reality. TalOS was now bound to reality, and as such lost many minor benefits of his existence. One of those was the stability of his own body, which resulted in much more human pains.
Now that they were settled Magnus looked upon his brother with a sense of skepticism. While he clearly valued TalOS’s words, the way the Tech Priest described his thoughts likely brought some concern. Eventually he spoke, “Would you be able to show me?”
