Hawkodesh claims that this priest is not a bad guy, so there should be no harm in sending Datz with him. This is a good chance for her to learn more about Anu and share her findings with you later. The more you know about the enigmatic god that made you his Champion, the better...
"Psst..." You grab Daitza’s arm and pull her closer to whisper in her fuzzy ears. “I think you should go with the humielet. We need to know as much as we can about Anu."
“But… but what if he’s a smug idiot like most dwarves?” Not unexpectedly, she’s unhappy with the idea, though she makes sure to keep her voice low about it. “Seriously, if I hear one calling us gnoggers ONE more time..."
"Don’t worry, Hawkodesh told me this one is alright. C’mon, just look at him…" Datz glances at the quiet priest, who stares back at her shyly. "Clearly he’s not dumb enough to provoke two big, scary gnolls like us.”
"Hmm. Now that you mention it, he looks kind of weak compared to other humielets..." She grins at the young dwarf, who quickly averts his eyes off her. "Hah! A scaredy one. Who woulda thought. Maybe we can get along just fine."
“So... you’ll talk to him, then?"
“Weeeell, I’d rather watch you learn magic, but…” Daitza pauses to stare at the priest, thinking of what to do. Soon, she sighs and gives you a lazy nod. "Fine. I guess I’ll go and gather some information. That’s what scouts do, after all..."
"Cool, cool. If you get bored or something, you could just talk to him about whatever."
“Uh-huh. We’ll see." She puts a hand on your shoulder, smiling. “As for you, Hyeny… I want you to train *hard* and give your best. Next time we talk, you better show me a really cool magic spell. Got it?”
You grin with pure confidence in your heart. “I will.”
Daitza, Murdock and you trade nods. She walks up to Gandarlig, who flinches at the sight of the imposing predator approaching him. "Gre-greetings, Daitza. Blessings of Anu upon you…"
"Heya!" your pal greets him carefreely. "I've got some questions about the god you dwarves worship. You gonna answer them, right?”
"Yes... yes, of course."
"Hmm? I can't hear you." Daitza playfully leans closer, pretending not to hear him. The dwarf steps back with a scared look on his face, getting a naughty smile out of Datz. "I-I said yes. Let's take a seat, please…" He leads her down the stairs to one of the front seatings.
Murdock gives the two of them a concerned stare. "I hope yer companion treats Gandarlig well. Poor kid ain't got many friends - the last thing he needs is a gnoll making fun of him."
"Daitza can be a bit blunt sometimes, but I know her well. She won't say anything to hurt him on purpose." That is, as long as the dwarf doesn't get on her bad side first.
"Mmhm…" Murdock nods, somewhat appeased. "Alrighty then. Ye ready to start your spellcastin’ lesson?"
You smile and give him a thumbs up. "Been looking forward to it. Let's do this!”
