Negotiations were short. Despite your efforts, turning the situation around seems unlikely now. However, certain things are starting to fall into place. A tiny voice in your head is certain that Seesan is a traitor. You're confident he was the one reporting your position and actions to the enemy. It gnaws at you, your mind is torn between the fight before you, and the knowledge that you have truly been betrayed.
"He's resisting, open fire!" Seesan's command echoes through the hillside. You can't help but wonder why he was so cooperative before, was it just to get close, to influence your decisions? Humans fighting humans, it goes against everything you stand for. Following Seesan's words, a barrage of blazing pulses rain around your immediate area, burning their mark into the ground and trees around you. Reacting swiftly, you dive into a roll, aiming to evade the incoming shots. Unfortunately, one finds its mark, and a searing pain jumps through your side. It's not crippling, but it's adding up. Steeling your resolve, you decide to focus on the Other rider.
Upon reaching the Other, you extend your hand to grab him, only to be caught off guard as he springs back to life. His leg strikes your chin, catching you off guard, sending you reeling. With that momentum, the Other rolls onto his back, and effortlessly plants himself onto his feet.
You grunt in pain as you force yourself to rise once again. So he really as playing possum this whole time!
"Restrict his movement! Formation Sigma!" Seesan's orders echo through the chaos. The team moves with the practiced precision you've come to expect from the humans, employing tactics you've worked alongside, even trained with before, albeit lightly. Their movements are aimed at encircling you, ensuring a line of fire on you at all times. Tyri hurls a grenade at your feet. Reacting swiftly, you launch yourself into the air, narrowly evading the explosion. Directing your landing, you aim to give the Other a good stomping. Your foot connects with his shoulder, then you quickly launch back up to get out of his range. Just in time too as his elbow snaps around, missing you by a hair.
Before you can complete your landing, Henry hits you mid-air with a mag-hook connected to a steel line. With a forceful tug aided by Seesan, they bring you crashing back to the ground. Hard. The impact jars your entire body, drawing another pained grunt. Suddenly, a dark and ominous figure looms above you.
