As you think on it, she's not wrong. You wonder why it's so desperate to deflect any attempt at getting 'closer' to it on a personal level. Though, you won't lie, you can somewhat understand where it's coming from. Being a wage slave can easily make someone feel like a dehumanized husk. You could almost seem where it was coming from.
