Striding towards the hateful light, the ghouls close in to attack. However, you had the advantage, and got to dig into them with Richard's spear and your other blades.
The ghouls are fierce opponents. Stronger then the Knockers by a great margin- their skin is weak and sickly and their claws are brittle- but they are still filled with a sort of unnatural vigor and speed towards killing and feasting on the flesh of the living. While Nasir and Elly didn't contribute to the fight- they didn't get hurt either, which is good. Just holding the torch and giving advice was helpful enough.

Your offense was enough to end all of the ghouls- enough to keep them from running away or coming back again. The dead creatures begin to fester on the floor, a disgusting smell- but they are at least dead and will haunt this crypt no longer.
<span class="mu-b">"Huzzah! Take that!"</span>
However, you also took some damage in return. While you were worried about Snail Friend due to the fact he wears no armor- not even clothing barely- his shell and mucus-coated body was more then enough to protect himself from the bites and claws of the ghouls. No wonder his race are such fierce warriors.
However, not everyone else in the group was quite so lucky.
