“You’ve learned from Genescience then, that is interesting.” TalOS said as he felt a little uncomfortable hearing his personal discipline being named.
“It was a flight of fancy, one that I saw needed to be done so that my Legion would rise from its ashes.” Declared Fulgrim as he seemed to almost languish his deed, “A firm hand was needed in both the study and the collection of persons. Each of my sons from the first batch were handpicked by me with all of them being compatible with my Geneseed.”
“Really?” TalOS felt a small bit of confusion but also a relative understanding of those words. He too selected his sons. But if what Fulgrim was saying was true then he had a greater success rate. In an instant TalOS had to know, “How did you accomplish such a feat?”
The smile and feelings that TalOS got from Fulgrim was like someone who had their enemy fall for a trap. TalOS did not care if he fell for some sort of trap or not though. He was both confused and curious just how his brother was able to achieve a feat that TalOS can only get down with roughly ten of his batches.
“Ha, it was quite simple, my brother.” The Phonecian declared with a crystal clear laugh, “Only the greatest and brightest are to become members of my Legion. Those that are below my standards will not be allowed to be implanted by my Geneseed. Even if they are young boys each of them must be capable of art and have a cursory understanding of war. If that cannot be achieved then why bother?”
“Such a level of selection does not correlate with Geneseed Compatibility.” TalOS pointed out with a hint of skepticism, “While the aptitude of a person does correlate with their acceptance of the implant it is not guaranteed. There are a great many factions that are placed into it.”
TalOS could see the smile upon Fulgrim’s face begin to wane and the anger within him start to bubble up for a moment. The good will that TalOS was trying to build was waning and it was obvious that TalOS thought too much about the situation.
Was that an issue? Yes TalOS was trying to fix the path that was between his brother and him. Didn’t that include trading of theories in order to better gain an understanding of the treatment his brother used.
