You and Frank both stood apart, watching in awkward silence as both women shared a heartwarming moment with one another.
You turned to stare at Frank, and he looked down to stare questioningly down at you. You opened your arms, gestured for him to come closer, and took a step forward. Before the big lug could react, your arms were already wrapped around his waist and you'd nearly lifted him off of the ground in an impressive display of strength. He made a startled sound, and then he barked out a laugh and returned the favor in kind.
Frank's massive, tree-trunk arms pressed against your spine and threatened to snap it in half when he [i:lit]squeezed[/i:lit]!
You wanted to scream, but all the air was forcibly pushed out of your lungs, and a weak groan was all that you could manage. You patted him on the shoulder, silently begging for mercy and braced yourself for the pain of having your muscles scrape against your bones.
[red]"Uncle…uncle…!"[/red]
Mercifully, you were released from his death grip, and nearly choked when you gasped a lung-full of air. To his credit, Frank looked at least mildly apologetic.
[red]"It's been a blast, Bloodstone. I can’t say that you don't know how to throw down and have a good time while doing it."[/red]
She gave Ana’s back an affectionate rub and broke off the hug to face you with a beaming smile.
[red]"Yeah, well, you're not so bad yourself, mate. Out of all the guys that Ana’s shagged, you've got to be the most interesting one."[/red]
Anastasia elbowed Elsa in the ribs hard enough to make her wince, if only slightly.
You let out a laugh that only sounded slightly nervous. You were quite proud of that.
[red]"Haha! How many, uh…how many guys are we talking here? Like a [i:lit]lot[/i:lit], or…"[/red]
She walked up to you and patted the side of your face.
[red]"Chin up. You've met her dad and haven't run off with your tail between your legs, so there's still hope for you, yet. I'm rooting for you two."[/red]
You returned her smile, and watched as she walked back to stand alongside Frank. She pulled out a golden medallion of some sort and tapped the gem in the middle. Almost immediately a large dimensional gateway opened up on the middle of the sidewalk. Not so large that Frank couldn't enter without bending down, but quite big for someone with more modest proportions.
On the other side, you were once more greeted with a glimpse of what you could only assume Bloodstone Manor. It was at that point that you started attracting stares.
Well, even [i:lit]more[/i:lit] stares.
[red]"Anytime you find yourself in New York, feel free to swing on by. Maybe we can get a drink without anything exploding or a demon army rising up out of hell."[/red]
She turned back to face you, tapping the side of her face quizzically.
[red]"Hmm. That might be a bit of a tall order, but I'll hold you to it nonetheless. In the meantime, devote some of that energy into finding a half-decent pub!"[/red]
