>>5461575“You stand too proudly, mortal.” a voice calls from the beings gathered on the dais to either side of the skeleton sitting the throne, the frog-like being in an orange suit with tiny spectacles balanced on its snout and very draconic-looking wings folded behind its back. It then takes a breath and speaks with incredible authority, rivaling even your old man's commanding, authoritative tone. “KNEEL!”
Suddenly the gravity feels like it doubles around you, the demon clearly trying to force you to your knees before the skeleton sitting in the throne. But you're not taking this disrespect laying down.
“A rather rude greeting. HAA!” you say, then punch towards him with your left hand. Directly at his chest, from dozens of feet away. But the shock wave from your punch is more than enough, the force slamming into the demon's gut and launching him backwards into the stone wall. And the instant you do this, the entire room turns immediately hostile. All except for the skeleton sitting passively in his chair. You quickly prepare to defend yourself, taking a more defensive fighting stance, glancing back and forth before the skeleton himself speaks.
“That is enough, all of you!” Ainz Ooal Gown says, all of them immediately stiffening up and freezing in place. “Chilli, son of Karn is a GUEST here. You will all abide by proper manners from here on, understood?”
“Yes Lord Ainz!” they all say, every single being in the room turning and kneeling to the skeleton sitting there in the throne. Who looks them all over silently, before returning his attention to you.
“Please, forgive me for my subordinates' ill manners.” he apologizes to you, actually catching you by surprise with this. Unlike before, he's actually addressing you with a note of respect, and perhaps fear? “It was not my intention for Demiurge to act so disrespectfully towards you.”
“Eh, he got what he deserved.” you reply, more surprised with how quickly he got control of his people. “So, why am I here?”
“Why did you come to my home in the first place?” he asks wryly, then continues past the point. “Despite how our first meeting went, I have been looking forward to this.”
“Oh yeah?” you reply, clenching your fists as you ready yourself. “So you could finish the job?”
“...What?” he asks, seemingly confused by your comment. Which confuses you, as you'd been expecting this entire thing to have been a trap, the villain to monologue a bit, then you fight to the death against him and his minions. But the genuine surprise in his tone catches you completely off guard. Silence hangs over the room for several seconds, before the skeleton before you begin laughing. Not some evil, 'you've fallen for my trap' laugh, but a genuine belly (does he even have one?) laugh.
