But since I am in a modern art reference mood, look at this inspiration Foret et Soleil (Forest And Sun, 1956; there are multiple versions) by Max Ernst, who was a surrealist pioneer known for a large variety of techniques including décalcomanie ??, a form of tracing or print transfer. I think this photolithograph art piece, Forest And Sun, would make a cool avant garde cover for a fantasy novel (Gene Wolfe Book Of The New Sun etc comes to mind, hehe)
