Oh, but Rion - good eye, I see a small wood Pidgeon near that Material Research section. That's a signal from our friends in the facility, they've hidden something useful under the stacks!
>2 caches marked on map! Goo find!>>5632962Along with Fulton's work on the guard rotations, knowing where the signal semaphores and distress works are is important. I'll cover that in a bit...
>>5632973You understand that Re-organising your Adapt pool is, indeed, your Prep action? As is using Quick Study. But sure, that might take an hour and some book-flipping, we've all been there, it's minor re-adjustment.
But spending the the following twelve hours carefully working Sigildry on a spider? The spider is now linked to your Fate. I... Why.
Why.
Why Mimic, why.
It's a spider it knows nothing but wrath and webs and woe. It will eat your children and lay its eggs in your eyes. You've woven a strand of fate that leads to clutches of this thing using your liver to sustain its empire! Well, at least for now, anything that happens to you happens to the Sea Sultan as well. That's . . . something.
Be careful though, Fate-twisting tends to incur a sympathetic two-way partial. Odds are if something happens to the Sea Sultant....
Get Fulton or Eventide to crash-teach you some Spiderese. Webbian. Spidewebian? Spi...

By taking on 5 Backfires, you've accidentally entangled yourself in Spider Fate. I... I think you might need to watch out for wasps. Uh. You... You should definitively stay away from the Specimen Section.
>>5632962You're down a spider, Eventide. I'd say "7" remain but this damn ship is *full* of them by now, you can just collect another fifty.
>>5632992If you show them the Rainbow Sleeker, they'll be livid and delighted and invite you to discuss improbable Biologies. It looks like we're in luck. There's 9 faculty members in this place. 6 old greybeards, but three that keep the entire place running. They rotate the role of Librarian among themselves and we're hitting the place during Makoti's focus on wildlife, animals and agricultural research. Bel's year has just ended, so the Materials workshops are overflowing with finished projects and detritus in various shapes of almost done.
If you're paying for re-enrollment and licensing, they have a fairly good emergency medical programme. Makoti is an idealist, and during her bouts as Librarian, she tends to set the nominal fee for attending a full day of instruction for at half a Bit, with the rest sponsored by the House Luperni. There's apparently also a grant programme and a fairly rote process to get the Bursary to dispense with any actual fees. I hear it makes the accountants upset.
