Emir had a measure of more skill than the other assassins you’d fought, being on the same level as perhaps those two axemen outside the Keep. Fighters of his type were amongst your least favorite to come across. You hated the quick and speedy ones, who were content to dance around you and look for weak points rather than risk direct confrontation. Combat was about taking blows head on. Little shits like this fool were better suited for the ballet rather than the battlefield. As leader of your company, you choose to delegate the incoming blow to Adeline. She was better suited for tasks such as this anyway. The green knight intercepts the attack meant for you without complaint.
>Emir: 19 STR + 8 (KE) = 27 - 24 DEF = 3x2 = 6 DMG
>Adeline: 46/52 HP
A clink sound echoes throughout the cavernous hallway as Emir’s sword clashes with Adeline’s plate armor. For all of the fancy footwork these sword dancers employed, people like Adeline were their ultimate bane. All the speed in the world was no use if you could not physically harm your opponent.
“That was unwise.” Adeline says.
>Adeline: 24 STR + 12 (SL) = 36 - 12 = 24 DMG
>Emir: 21/45
Adeline smashes Emir into a nearby pillar with a single swipe of her spear, leaving a massive crack in the stone where the man collides. He slides back onto his feet, looking as though he was unable to comprehend what just hit him. Adeline makes a funny face, scratching the area where Emir’s sword had collided with her with a gloved gauntlet. Whatever was bothering her, she quickly puts it aside to face her foe.
>Poison Touch: Adeline: 43/52 HP
“H-hiding behind a woman, are you?” Emir says, coughing up blood onto the floor. “You foreigners have a strange way of-”
>Tristain: 26 STR + 12 (SA) = 38 - 12 DEF = 26 DMG
>Emir 0/45 HP
You don’t allow the man to finish his goading. The Riahi leader had been very proud when she told you that assassins did not fight fairly. Well, they were not the only ones. Honor was never your forte. However, even if you did place stock in such lofty ideals, these assassins would hardly be worth the effort. Your axe cuts through the man’s midsection and into the pillar behind him. For a second, you worry you may have swung too hard, potentially knocking the pillar over and causing the room to cave in. Fortunately, the stone is sturdy, and holds together far better than the man that was leaning against it, who has now fallen to the ground in two pieces.
