Nhon has done the impossible.
After nights of research, countless hours spent looking for traces of history, weeks of exploration, and numerous favors, he was able to locate and convince people who worked closely to Thon to reveal his behavior.
Sexual harassment. Threats. Intimidation. Disappearances. Corruption. Nepotism. Negligence. Overwork.
All these problems are revealed to him — Thon’s behavior isn’t uncommon.
Pulling every strings he had, Nhon was able to get most of the news websites to publish this story. He was expecting that the corporation caught wind of this before it was released.
With the help of his friends on the investigation team, sympathizers within the company, and favors from other operators, video evidence, audio recordings, and chatlogs of the higher ups in the company talking about ways to suppress this allegation was publicized.
Bribes. Threats. Assassinations. 'Aug Killswitches'. Lists of scapegoats. Personal armies. Lists of counter protestors. Journalists willing to offer ‘alternative truths'. People willing to fund advertisements that redirect people to websites that defend them.
All of them became public information.
All of those names and identities were revealed.
The fallout was incredible.
The corporation was no longer able to say that he was just a regular employee that merely skimmed money and did illegitimate business outside of the company’s premises — they knew what he was doing and they’re doing everything in the power to keep people from disrupting their cushy positions.
Nhon predicted that these people know they can’t survive court, (and certainly can’t survive prison) they would try to flee the country.
Out of nearly fifty employees, less than a dozen were still on the run after a couple days.
Most of them unknowingly had killswitches on their augs, planted by their colleagues to ensure that they aren’t able to betray them.
The investigation team and sympathizers got hold of this information from a few particularly paranoid employees who kept records of all the killswitches’ activation codes.
Even the most well armed employees or individuals on their payroll were easily arrested (or killed by vigilantes) when they can barely live. Hard to even pull a trigger when nerve signals don’t get sent to the limbs.
As for the few smart ones, their vehicles were intercepted before they could escape the capital.
All those fancy VTOL aircraft, helicopters, private trains, buses…
They mean little when their crews took the day off and left. Money encouraged most, some needed convincing, and a few needed blackmail.
