More interestingly, the Flounder Feeder’s heart has grown in some parts and shrunk in others, leading to a weaker muscle and suboptimal vein placement. With a thick layer of blubber and the powerful tail to move it already straining circulation, this has a terrible impact on the Flounder Feeder’s cardiological function. The end result is that heart failures are a more common cause of death than cancer and the Flounder Feeder’s average lifespan has been cut down by a third, from two and a half Terran years (owing in part to their refined filter organ) to a mere twenty Terran months. The Flounder Feeder population further decreases.
