>>6320393A dark fog begins to ooze out of the shattered remnants of the broken sword. You’d seen this before. Back in Ithaca, when you’d accidentally destroyed the Djinn Orb. The same thing had happened then. The spirit inhabiting the possessed item was being pulled back to this plane, and taking material form. Elric points an accusatory finger at you, even as the fog begins to thicken, and the sky darkens.
“BASTARD! The only reason you were able to do that is because I was forced to inhabit the body of a PATHETIC CHILD! FINE! You wish to release me into this world so badly? You shall now reap what you sowed. I will take my time slicing you apart, bit by bit. And when I am done, I shall possess one of your allies. And then I will find your friends! And I will cut them too! And your cousin!! And your family!! I will rule this land once more, and I will ENSURE your line SUFFERS for your arrogance!!”
Elric drops face first onto the ground. The boy does not move, but you’re able to hear him moaning. Has Mystletainn finally left his body? Given the dreadful aura you felt spilling into the courtyard, it seemed as though that were the case. It was just as Alvin’s notes had said. You’d have to contend with the spirit directly now. And it was sure to be stronger than the possessed boy had been. But it would also be killable too.
You turn around. Crowley and Saoirse were gone. The effects of the Light Rune had worn off. You could hear them outside, still scrambling to find a way in. Until they did, it would be you alone against the spirit of Mystletainn. Well, perhaps almost alone.
Elric is still lying unconscious. If you hurry and remove his badge, you could send the boy safely back to the Manse. You had no doubt that the spirit would have no qualms about targeting him in an attempt to mess with you. Or, you could leave him there, and use this brief time you had before Mystletainn fully materialized to heal yourself. Perhaps the boy might even come in handy. Though he never had before.
>A): Remove Elric’s badge.>B): Use a Concoction. (54/74 HP)
