>>5654331Before you can respond, you are interrupted by the arrival of a knight of Faerghus who addresses you.
“Commander Blair. Duke Fraldarius requests your presence in the command tent. You are to follow me immediately.”
Mercedes gives your hand a parting squeeze and a weak smile. “We’ll speak more later, I’m sure. Good luck, Blair.”
You are guided by the soldier back through the camp and into what must pass as the command tent. You enter the comfortably large dwelling and find Corrine already there waiting for you, along with a handful of knights and nobles of Faerghus. Inside is a large table, covered in various maps and trinkets that you take are meant to symbolize the various divisions of the Kingdom’s army. Amongst the soldiers present, you spot a few familiar faces.
“Is that Blair?!” Sylvain cries, astonished. “When did you get so cut-uhh…it’s good to see you again! It’s been too long!” He’s matured in the face somewhat, and grown quite a bit as well, but he’s still the same ardent womanizer you remember from the academy.
“Blair.” Felix gives you a curt nod. “It’s good to have you with us.” Felix as well, seems to have not changed as much. He’s still as direct as ever. You note the large shield strapped to his back. The Aegis Shield, one of the Heroes Relics, pulsates slowly, as if it were a beating heart. Next to Felix is his father and your one-time employer, Duke Rodrigue Fraldarius.
“Blair.” Rodrigue says with a noticeable hint of relief in his voice. “I must thank you for heeding our call and arriving here as quickly as you did. Your help is greatly appreciated and will be a boon at Gronder. With the Blackwings on our side, we’ll have full control of the skies.”
