>>5294813It's a struggle to force yourself back up to your feet.
Worried about your wound, you cut open your skinsuit to get a look at it. The wound itself has almost completely closed, but what little remains is visibly steaming.
The wound has been almost entirely replaced with some rough-looking scar tissue.
As the burning around your eye intensifies, you tear the bandage off that as well.
Almost as soon as you do, your vision begins to swim. The room spins, and it feels like you're seeing double... no, triple?
Then... movement. One eye is clear, but from the other, you see something that shouldn't be there.
An alien. More specifically, a grey. And you recognize the outfit he's wearing.
He's one of the greys that abducted you.
You watch as he walks across the room, straight through one of the crates strewn across the floor, and stands before a tower of cages.
Each one contains some weird animal, and the occasional biped. You hear him speak, but his voice sounds so distant... like he's at the far end of a canyon.
And then, in an instant, your vision is back to normal. No trace of what you saw remains.
Sweat drips freely from your face as you stand there, unsure of what to make of it.
And then it happens again. Your head hurts worse than any migraine you've ever felt.
You aren't sure what you're seeing this time. You don't recognize any of it.
A woman... strapped to a cross. Hooded men burn symbols into her flesh with a brand of black metal. Flames erupt from her flesh, and she screams.
Then she's impaled, over and over again. Dozens of thin, black spears pierce her body, each one hooked into a massive machine of some sort.
The brands on her body begin to glow as she's lowered into a vat of inky black fluid. You can almost feel her panic as she begins to drown.
And again, it's gone. The visions disappear in an instant, but the sensations... what that woman felt, they linger. You feel sick.
You feel blood trickle down your nose and drip onto the floor. You need to get to your crew. Something is seriously fucking wrong with you.
However, the moment you take a step, you collapse, rolling onto your back.
It's almost like you're drunk. Still conscious, but not fully in control of your own body.
You see Cylia leaning over you, an expression of worry etched into her face. She's yelling at you, but you can't hear what she's saying.
You try to flip over, to push yourself back up to your feet...
And then you realize, you're not on your ship anymore. You find yourself staring up at an unfamiliar light fixture.
There's a heart monitor steadily beeping in the background. The sound of electronics gently humming.
You turn your head, and there's someone standing over you, as if they were waiting for you to wake up.
It's that woman... what was her name again?
You hear a soft and gentle voice in your mind. The sound of someone speaking.
<span class="mu-i">["Illia."]</span>
"Ah, right. Illia. That was it."
